- Raise awareness about the painter Jules Lellouche (1903-1963): This Tunisian-born artist enjoyed a large audience and a great reputation in his home country. However, due to his premature death and the vagaries of history, his life and work are still unrecognized by connoisseurs in France and Europe, despite his significant and remarkable artistic production, not to mention numerous exhibitions and a warm welcoming from critics. Thus, Jean Bouret1 described him as "the leading painter from Colonial French North Africa in the tradition of Marquet," while for Georges Besson2, "Jules Lellouche was a heroic exception, a wiseman among the tumultuous struggles in Art, an original and sincere achiever in the same vein as Corot and Marquet."
